Weekly Tarot Forecast: The Moon
Forecast for 1 August - 7 August 2022

This week, The Moon presents itself to us as the card of focus for the week ahead. When this card appears, it often brings with it the shadows of anxiety, fear and uncertainty - but also the gifts of perseverance and intuition. Following on from last week’s New Moon in Leo, which called for us to be brave and and to set bold intentions for our lives, I think The Moon card is here to remind us of the journey that comes after we set our intentions - the journey that lies beyond our initial motivation for change.
The Moon can remind us of the ebb and flow of the lunar cycles, and the way that is echoed in our human experience as we too both wax and wane. The only thing that remains constant in our lives is that we are in a constant state of change. While we can not always see the the path ahead as clearly as we would like, we need to trust that the path will present itself to us as long as we keep moving forward. The moon itself casts much light, but also many shadows, and I believe that speaks to what we experience on our journey. Sometimes things can seem so clear and like everything makes sense, but that moment of clarity can seem fleeting when the shadows descend. The duality between dark and light, known and unknown, is a hard path to walk.
Finding Balance through Light and Shadow
How do we keep going when we suddenly can’t seem to remember why we started? How do we keep going when we feel at a standstill with anxiety? How do we keep going when the shadows of our past cast a darkness over the light of our future? This is where intuition and trust come in. We need to trust ourselves enough to lean into our inner knowing, to cultivate stillness so that we can hear the calling of our true inner guidance and know how to move forward. The Moon reminds us that after darkness comes light, but also that after light comes darkness, and this in itself is the cyclic nature of our human existence.
We cannot prevent the darkness from happening, but we can strengthen our ability to move through it, to stay the course even when things get dark and the shadows of hopelessness set in. Even though the path ahead may be uncertain, we have all the bravery and courage inside of us to walk through it. We have the strength and stamina to keep moving forward, to journey through the shadows as well as the light. This week, remember your strength. Remember your light, and know that whatever comes your way, you have the ability to navigate through it. Know that if you currently find yourself in the darkness, it is only a matter of time until you once again step into the light - just hold on!
Wishing you the most magical of weeks.
